You are decreasing overall cartridge length, which equates to less velocity at the muzzle and less energy, as well as less recoil. A lot of people prefer the .380 due to ease of use racking the slide over a 9mm, as the springs are lighter.

However the longer frame on the P365 will make for a better shooter. Even with the 12-round extended mag in a std P365 I find I can handle and shoot the P365X better. As previously stated. Any firearm can fail. But that being said, I have had zero issues with my P365’s. Or for that matter, zero issues with any of my Sigs. P365, P320, P220, P225, P226, P229. Zero! It is called Sig 365 ammo and it is designed specifically for the Sig 365. It is loaded very mild at only 1050 fps, whereas the winchester white box 115gr in 1125 fps, federal is 1180 fps, and the +P is 10% higher and the +P+ is 20% higher. Sig came out with the 365 ammo due to reported problems with the P365 when introduced.
