I replaced the stamped dear head birch stocks (which I still have) with some new Walnut checkered stocks I got off of ebay! Now it looks like a 336sc (sporting carbine).The Glenfield/Marlin 30A was made from 1973 to 1983 then the 30AS (S=safety) took over from '84 till 1989.....Some 274K were produced. These were made to sell to Sears, Montgomery Wards, Roses, K-Mart, and many other of the larger national/regional "chain stores" of the era.
