Car felt odd; traction was horrible despite the roads being all right, taking foot off the break did not have it go around 5 mph like usual. I pulled into a parking lot, checked some things (nothing found), stopped and started a few times. Simply put, the sensor that triggers the "slip" light and hence the engagement of the Vehicle Dynamic Control System (VDC) is caliberated based on OEM height and tire size. If I hit the rear diff switch the REAR DIFF light goes out and then ABS and SLIP come on. I can hear the 4wd engage both high and low when I turn it on with my door open.

They turned them off in under 5 minutes, it was free and i didn't have to wait. they did it right away. The simplest thing to do is to take it back to the dealer. My 2008 Xterra had the VDC/slip light on when it was delivered. Just took it back the next day and they fixed it. Not really sure what the problem was. They said the steering angle detector (or something like that) had to be re-adjusted and the computer had to be reset.

VDC and slip lights sound unrelated and usually mean you've got an ABS code, so get that pulled and go from there. Before you do any of that though, get yourself under your truck and figure out where the transmission fluid is "pouring" out from. Should be pretty obvious if it's not a slow leak.
