I have a 1951 Farmall Tractor. I bought an electronic ignition conversion kit. The tractor was running perfectly with the old distributor that contained the old traditional "Points". When I installed the new electronic ignition conversion kits the engine would not start and had trouble turning over.29 Sept 2020 ... The stock breaker point and coil system is more than adequate for the ignition needs of a Farmall C. Were it mine I'd leave the ignition "as is" and save your money. For a 12 volt conversion, again the stock 6 volt system maintained good condition is entirely adequate for a Farmall C.Ok, the Prestolite distributor on my 450 needs points, rotor and condensor. Put in new plugs, wires (carb and 12-volt starter, radiator, hoses), and 12-volt front coil. Solved problem.
