I have a 20" .308 bolt action and AR 10. I sure wouldn't want to go shorter. Muzzle blast becomes intense and performance drops into the 30/30 range. If you want something lightweight but possibly more fragile and higher recoil then that’s for you. Remember Ruger made this specifically to make it more AR15 like and much lighter. I haven’t shot a PSA AR10, but I do have a PSA AR15. I have shot the Hyperion on my SFAR, Virtus, and Thoroughbred Armament 14.5”. The SFAR gasses my face heavy, and I mean heavy, after just 2-5 rounds. The Virtus is noticeably gassy but not terrible. I believe the SFAR's come with AGB so gas shouldn't be a problem. 16” midlength .308s tend to be over gassed. I’d say skip this option. Ideally, you’d get the 20” rifle and cut down to 16” so as to have a rifle length gas systems more compatible with suppressor use. You could also stay w a 20” bbl and run a 6” can.
