A newsgroup is a discussion about a particular subject consisting of notes written to a central internet site and redistributed through Usenet, a worldwide network of news discussion groups. Usenet uses the Network News Transfer Protocol, or NNTP. Usenet was created in the 1980s as a way for researchers and academics to share information and ideas. The 20 newsgroups dataset comprises around 18000 newsgroups posts on 20 topics split in two subsets: one for training (or development) and the other one for testing (or for performance evaluation). The split between the train and test set is based upon a messages posted before and after a specific date. This module contains two loaders.
